Sexual Abuse Prevention is a constant issue facing ministries of all sizes. On Tuesday, Steve Case, attorney with Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, spoke to churches in the Kansas City area on this important topic. He discussed the basics of protection policy development, screening, supervision, and mandatory reporting.
Steve also tackled the difficult subject of ministering to Sex Offenders. He informed those present of the importance of developing and implementing policies and guidelines to assist their ministry in carrying out the Great Commission while protecting the flock. Steve covered things such as participation agreements, chaperone teams and the importance of investigating each individual situation.
